Karen
My name is Karen, I am married to Stuart with two children, Ava and Thomas. We have a dog called Alfie. I enjoy going walking with Alfie, going to the gym and spending time with my family on holiday in our caravan.
I trained as a nurse from leaving sixth form and I qualified in 2000. Once qualified I worked on an acute medical ward and from there moved to A&E. When I left A&E I moved to primary care and worked as a district nurse and a Lead nurse in a busy GP practice. During this time I gained a degree in Primary and Community care and also did my prescribing qualification. I then moved back to working in the hospital but within a new project ‘Transforming Cancer Care In The Community’, which I am still based at now.

I first started my career in aesthetics in 2014 and it is from there that I started Avismo Aesthetics & Skin. (The name Avismo was inspired from my daughter)
I am a NMC Registrant and hold a V300 Prescribers Qualification. I am fully insured with a specialist insurer and all details can be provided on request. With over 20 years in the medical industry I ensure safety and quality in this ever-changing aesthetics industry. I am a member of the Aesthetic Complications Expert (ACE) Group as I want to prioritise patient safety. I am also a member of the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN) which is the largest Professional Association for nurses carrying out cosmetic treatments in the UK. It operates under a strict Code of Conduct in order to ensure patient safety across all treatments undertaken by its members.
Education is something that I am passionate about. I continue to expand my own knowledge and expertise regularly working alongside other expert peers and continually investing in training.

Lorna
My name is Lorna and I am a qualified Operating Department Practitioner having studied at University of East Anglia.
In my career I have worked in Emergency theatres, Orthopaedics & Day surgery at NNUH covering anaesthetics, surgery and recovery. From there I joined Papworth and was part of the Cardio Thoracic scrub team and was able to work with world renowned surgeons and be part of some incredible surgery and transplants. Finally moving on to Hinchingbrooke and being part of the Gynae outpatient team. I still do some bank shifts with the NHS and I have a current registration with a professional regulatory body.
So with over 19 years within Healthcare I have a passion for helping people. I have been working in Aesthetics for over 3 years and I am constantly learning to ensure I am up to date with best practices and procedures so that I can perform treatments as safely and effective as possible.

Karen & Lorna share a passion for aesthetics and a mutual commitment to being safe, ethical, and knowledgeable practitioners. We are both driven by a desire to ensure that every patient feels confident and cared for, prioritising safety and professionalism in every aspect of our practice. With a shared vision, we will continuously invest in our education and training, striving to uphold the highest standards in the industry.
