Karen

I’m Karen, the founder of Avismo Aesthetics & Skin and a highly experienced registered nurse with over 25 years’ experience in healthcare. I qualified in 2000 and began my career working in acute medicine and A&E before moving into primary care as a District Nurse and later a Lead Nurse in a busy GP practice. During this time, I completed a degree in Primary and Community Care and gained my V300 Independent Prescribing qualification.

I later returned to hospital practice, working within and then leading, the Transforming Cancer Care in the Community project for seven years. I began my career in medical aesthetics in 2014, combining my clinical background with a passion for skin health, which led to the creation of Avismo Aesthetics & Skin.

I am an NMC-registered nurse, fully insured with a specialist medical insurer, and a member of both the Aesthetic Complications Expert (ACE) Group and the British Association of Medical Aesthetics Nurses (BAMAN). Patient safety, education, and high clinical standards are at the heart of everything I do, and I continue to invest in ongoing training to ensure the safest, most effective treatments for my patients.

Lorna

I’m Lorna, a qualified Operating Department Practitioner having studied at University of East Anglia. 

In my career I have worked in Emergency theatres, Orthopaedics & Day surgery at NNUH covering anaesthetics, surgery and recovery. From there I joined Papworth and was part of the Cardio Thoracic scrub team and was able to work with world renowned surgeons and be part of some incredible surgery and transplants. Finally moving on to Hinchingbrooke and being part of the Gynae outpatient team. I still do some bank shifts with the NHS and I have a current registration with a professional regulatory body. 

So with over 19 years within Healthcare I have a passion for helping people. I have been working in Aesthetics for over 3 years and I am constantly learning to ensure I am up to date with best practices and procedures so that I can perform treatments as safely and effective as possible.

Andrea

I’m Andrea, a registered nurse with over 40 years of experience in healthcare. My career has spanned dermatology, midwifery, research nursing, practice nursing, and cancer care, giving me a broad and deeply rooted clinical background.

I now specialise in holistic medical acupuncture, supporting menopause symptoms, cancer-related side effects, and overall wellbeing. My approach combines evidence-based medicine with a holistic, patient-centred philosophy, focusing on treating the whole person rather than just symptoms.

At Avismo Aesthetics & Skin, I offer medical acupuncture, HIFU skin tightening, SkinPen microneedling, RadioFrequency microneedling and Profacial. I’m passionate about delivering safe, thoughtful treatments that support both skin health and overall wellbeing, and I take great care to tailor every treatment to the individual.
